About ByBox

We deliver 20 million parcels a year into 20,000 dropboxes all over the UK. From Truro to Inverness to Belfast, and most towns in between. Sounds a bit boring compared to alleycat racing, but the country would be in a perfect pickle if we didn’t run our network, even for a couple of nights (have you ever wondered how engineers get their parts?).

Our customers are mainly big companies with mobile engineers who fix broken machines. Companies like Fujitsu, Computacenter and Coca Cola; very demanding and completely intolerant of failure. In the middle of the night, we deliver mission-critical spare parts to their engineers. We’re the tooth fairy for high-tech parts.

We’re now opening-up our dropbox delivery network for consumer deliveries. After all, if an engineer doesn’t wait in for his parts – why on earth should you? Of course, you might say that a mission-critical part for a banking system is more important than THAT pair of cycling shoes for TOMORROW’s alleycat. But try telling that to the person taking part in the alleycat.

Our revenue is £34m, we’re privately owned and we employ 204 people in five countries. And now we’re completely committed to helping you mobilise your life rather than waiting in for the courier to turn up.

Before you wander around the blog – here’s a 30 second round-up,

  • We deliver consumer and business packages in the middle of the night to your nearest bank of electronic lockers;
  • Each locker has roughly 16 individual dropboxes and there are thousands of dropboxes all around the UK;
  • All of our items are delivered the next day;
  • And you’re texted a code when you have a delivery;
  • You then have about 48 hours to collect your parcel;
  • We’re also 83% more carbon friendly than a normal carrier. It’s not green washing – it just happens to be true.
