Overall responsibility for the operation and performance of the National Hub, the line haul network / trunking suppliers and Coventry DC. Responsible for monitoring budgets, ensuring the most cost-effective solutions are utilised. Keeping abreast of all procedures, operational and company developments and communicating them throughout teams appropriately.
Assume full management and development responsibilities for the site staff and third-party suppliers, encouraging and motivating to ensure all key performance indicators and monthly stats are exceeding targets. Recognition of customers’ service expectations is crucial, utilising and supporting the audit teams to maintain quality service and measure performance, always ensuring a first-rate service.
Provide the highest standards of security both in relation to the premises and customer freight and be available to attend site out of hours when necessary. Responsible for monitoring and auditing all vetting procedures to ensure company compliance.
Competent to NEBOSH or IOSH standard, health and safety is an integral part of this role, a proactive approach required to all health and safety processes and procedures ensuring it is adhered to, maintained, and constantly improved upon.
A minimum of five years’ management experience within a distribution environment with a demonstrable ability to meet demanding KPI targets and commercial acumen.
An excellent understanding of efficiency, output and profitability and a passion for customer service. An effective leader and logical thinker, able to create sustainable long-term relationships with colleagues, suppliers / business partners and customers alike.
Possess strong communication and organisational skills and understanding of industry systems and show commitment, enthusiasm and passion for the role adopting a proactively dynamic approach.
