General Maintenance Technician

The Position

To proactively handle the upkeep and maintenance of all ByBox locations, (primarily Coventry), implementing a proactive maintenance schedule across the estate, identifying and actioning improvement to equipment and premises to prevent any deterioration in quality and Health & Safety of the sites and working environment.

Perform routine inspections of premises and equipment, annual PAT, maintain asset register, conduct risk assessments and complete permits to work as required. Interact with and manage the work provided by external contractors.

Working alongside Facilities and SHE(Q) to assure full compliance with standards established within the organisation and in conducting mandatory site checks. Support the day-to-day operational management of all aspects of the property to assure maintenance of approved quality standards and work with staff in the planning and organisation of internal and building to building moves. Liaising with various in-house support groups for moves (e.g., IT). Manage and lead change to ensure minimum disruption to core activities.

Examples of general maintenance responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Changing Light bulbs / fittings
  • Rewiring, change fuses
  • Minor plumbing – unblocking toilets / drains
  • Moving of furniture or equipment
  • Assembling / constructing furniture
  • Carpentry work – Putting up shelves, signage
  • Gardening & outdoor work

The Person

A minimum of two years’ experience performing routine maintenance and repair including electrical work and hold a full UK driving license.

Responsible for monitoring the operational process once live and checking for scope creep and finally, transition to BAU. To ensure all new customer SLAs are adhered to, from project phases to go live operational SLAs.

To check / oversee the completion of administrative routines that are crucial to the smooth running of the operation. Providing effective training and support for operational teams for new customers and their bespoke processes and production of internal and customer management information.

  • Own, develop and maintain the content of ByBox Software Product Catalogue / Portfolio, producing content suitable for both internal and external audiences.
  • Act as subject matter expert for all user-facing written content including documentation and micro copy.
  • Be embedded directly in development squads from the early stages of projects to understand the solution and to understand the documentation/training requirements of the end-users.
  • Produce appropriate technical content for the end-users of our software, including quick start guides, how-to videos and online help.
  • Understand the configuration and use-cases of the ByBox products to be self-reliant in producing appropriate content (such as screenshots, screencasts, videos etc.)

The Person

A minimum of three years’ experience in a similar role, at least one Microsoft or Cisco qualification and knowledge of the following:
